Rick Mischel currently serves as President of Reach Games, a company specializing in the creation of digital assets for the gaming and animation industry. Reach also offers consulting services for the distribution of digital media across all platforms, as well as advising companies on potential strategic partnerships with overseas studios. Mischel also serves as an Executive Producer at Rainmaker Animation and most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Mainframe Entertainment, a publicly-traded CGI animation studio specializing in television series, direct-to-video features, and gaming animation. Mainframe is best-known for its series of Barbie direct-to-video specials produced with Mattel, as well as the production studio behind the newest Spider-Man animated series. While at Mainframe, Mischel led the Company to the following milestones:
Prior to his position as Mainframe CEO, Mischel served as President and COO of The Harvey Entertainment Company in Los Angeles. At Harvey, Mischel was in charge of managing the business and creative affairs for some of the most lucrative intellectual properties in the family entertainment world, including Casper The Friendly Ghost and Richie Rich. During his tenure, Mischel was responsible for all production, development, distribution, online development, operations, merchandising and business affairs for the NASDAQ publicly traded company specializing in family entertainment. At Harvey, he supervised the creation of an international distribution division, executive-produced several television and direct-to-video specials and features, secured equity partnerships with several online companies and supervised all day-to-day operations of the character-based company. Mischel began his career as an entertainment attorney with O'Melveny & Myers in 1987. Two years later, Mischel joined Electric Pictures Corporation as a Vice President and was responsible for the development of feature film projects. From 1993 to 1997, Mischel served as the Senior Vice President of Live Entertainment, responsible for the acquisition, development and production of all completed feature films, co-productions and co-financing film projects, as well as all animated direct-to-video features, television specials and other Family Home Entertainment (FHE) branded children's programs for the NASDAQ-traded public company. In 1998, Mischel joined Harvey Entertainment and led the company to revenue growth, increasing earnings from $3 million to a projected $25 million through sales and mergers prior to the company's sale of its Harvey assets to Classic Media. Prior to his tenure at Harvey, Mischel served as an independent producer in Los Angeles, developing and/or producing projects for Nickelodeon, Fox Television Studios, F/X, and Canal Plus. |

Michael Douglas heads up Reach Games’ Art and Design division. He has been in the industry for over 10 years, working in numerous creative roles on a wide variety of projects. Previous to working at Reach, he headed up the Creative Services department at Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. (now Rainmaker Animation). He is experienced in creating pitch materials, graphic design, branding and identity development, motion graphics, product packaging, titling and interactive design, to highlight a few. He is an award-winning art director and graphic designer who has lead teams to produce countless projects for a wide variety of clients including MTV, Fox Television Studios, Turbine Entertainment, Escape Factory, Hothead Games, Sony Pictures Television, Mattel, Hasbro, Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. and NBC. One recent highlight was Art Directing the onscreen graphics and animation for the 2006 MTV Movie Awards, which he also worked on in 2003. His graphic design training plus his immersion in the gaming, animation and new media sectors provides a perfect blend of skills and experience to offer up to potential clients. |
